Keeping Children Cool During June’s Heatwave at Little Woodlands Nursery
This week has been full of sunshine at Little Woodlands Day Nursery, and our children have absolutely loved spending time outdoors. With the warm weather arriving, we made sure every moment was safe, comfortable and full of fun.
Staying Cool and Comfortable
To help children enjoy the sunshine safely, our team put several measures in place throughout the week:
- Plenty of water play – from splashing trays to cool-down activities, water play kept everyone refreshed and engaged.
- Shaded outdoor areas – we made full use of our shaded spaces so children could enjoy the outdoors without too much direct sun.
- Sun hats and sun cream – applied regularly and checked throughout the day to keep little ones protected.
- Hydration breaks – extra drinks and reminders helped children stay hydrated while they played.
These small steps make a big difference in keeping children comfortable and happy during warmer days.
Fun in the Sunshine
The beautiful weather meant lots of outdoor adventures. Children enjoyed exploring nature, taking part in summer‑themed activities and creating memories with their friends. Sunshine always brings out the best in imaginative play, and this week was no exception.
A Big Thank You to our Families
We also want to say a heartfelt thank you to our families. Your kind words and thoughtful messages during the week truly brightened our days. Knowing that our efforts are appreciated means so much to the whole team.
Looking Ahead
We’re excited for more sunshine‑filled adventures as summer continues. Whether it’s outdoor learning, water play or simply enjoying the fresh air, we’ll keep making sure every child stays safe, cool and happy.
